I have a confession to make. I barely edit my posts. I write them in 15 to 20 minutes. I fix a typo here and there and voila, it’s ready.
This allows me to write more, get better at writing, test ideas, and avoid procrastination. And I’m not the only one.
There are countless writers who do the same. I’m talking about online writers of course. Authors need to spend a lot of time editing their works.
There’s a marketer who’s considered an OG in email marketing. His name is Matt Furey. Legend has it that Matt writes a single email everyday that takes him 10 minutes to write.
He sends this email to his list and generates $10,000. Then he spends the rest of the day doing whatever he likes to do. Matt has worked hard to make this happen. You can’t do the same.
But it shows it’s possible to make something of quality in a short period of time.
Why I do this.
There are several reasons why I put my horseshit out there with minimum editing.
Firstly, I can avoid procrastination. I don’t have to spend hours wondering if I should replace “fuckin awesome” with “freakin awesome.” Secondly, I can build an audience much quicker. The internet loves speed. The more content you put out there, the more traffic you will generate.
More traffic means more followers and more followers mean more munny. And so on. I know some of you might think:
“Well if you spend so little time editing, your work is probably trash. I want to create quality stuff.”
Here’s the thing about online writing: Even if you write the best article it’s not guaranteed to go viral. When you don’t have a big following, you need to find which ideas stick.
The more you write, the faster you’ll get these good ideas.
Have you heard of Parkinson’s Law? This law says that work expands to fill the time needed for its completion. In other words, if you think writing an article takes 2 hours to write, you’ll find a way to work on it for two hours.
In reality you could get it done in 30 minutes. But because you think it will take 2 hours, you will find a way to spend another hour and a half working on it. Maybe you’ll add unnecessary stuff during that extra time.
I can pump out a post in 15 minutes because I believe I can do it. Hence, my sentences are concise. My examples are clear. And my writing is quick.
There are unlimited ways you can write a post.
You may think if you spend hours upon hours writing an article you’ll create something of quality.
Here’s something you should understand: you can end up on a loop where you keep changing one example with another. One sentence with another. One word with another. The result? You don’t achieve anything.
The first examples, sentences, and words were okay. You just wasted your time rearranging them, thinking you’ve produced something better. Remember, there are countless ways to write a post.

Same here chief. I see other people write out like 15 drafts. I write one. Edit it, Edit it again, then one more time and shoot it out.
That's awesome. Online writing is about volumes.
